My MG TF 1500 came to me in 2010 from my friend, in Connecticut, Parker Boylan, who had purchased it in 1971 and promptly taken the whole car apart in anticipation of doing a complete restoration.   Life got in the way and the TF languished in his basements of three different houses until July of 2010 when I gathered it up  in a rental truck and brought it here to Holly Springs.  Over the next three years, with a couple of interruptions, I proceeded to reassemble the car, first figuring out what and where all the parts were and went. Although it had been apart almost 40 years and moved twice, Parker being the meticulous individual he is, had not lost any parts. In fact he had many NOS items he had purchased for the restoration in the early 70s .

The car has been back on the road since January 2014, and traveled over 22000 miles in that time.  It has been to the Watkins Glen Vintage Gran Prix 2014, MG 2016 in Louisville then up through Michigan and it's Upper Peninsula to Green Bay WI, Nova Scotia for GOF MK101, and numerous NCMGCC tours and drives.

Although relatively stock, modifications include an MGA 4.3 differential, Hi Gear Engineering 5 speed transmission, a forged crankshaft and front disc brakes.  It also sports Mini Lite center lock wheels, rather than the standard wire wheels.

The car is a joy to drive and even though not the fastest MG ever made, it is nimble enough to make the two lane blacktop of our country fun to travel on.

My vote. This group was a very tough one! The history, moving between new homes in boxes, and the dedication and hard work that resulted was hard earned. Great job!

I know this car well and doubt there is a more capable TF anywhere. It maintains the classic image, but has been 'tweeked' in all the right places to be dependable and roadworthy. Exceptional.
